Top 5 Holiday Movies on Netflix for 5-8 Year Olds

16 Dec 2016 » netflix

Thanks to all the parents who sent me feedback on my last posting titled Top 5 Holiday Movies on Netflix for Preschoolers. Most parents were thankful for the tips, some were nostalgic and a few complained about the site layout. The biggest question was “do you have any suggestions for my older kids?”. I’m happy to say that this week I did a bit of research and have another 5 wonderful holiday films to share with you this. This week’s post is aimed at kids in the 5-8 year old range.

Be sure to add these selections to your Flix for Kids favorites!

1. The Polar Express

Polar Express Follow a boy who has stopped believing in the magic of Christmas as he boards a steam locomotive bound for the North Pole. Kids love this movie based on the classic book because of the perfect blend of trains, adventure and Santa Clause. Themes of friendship, leadership, courage and most importantly believing form the foundations of a movie that can be watched over and over.

2. Arthur Christmas

Arthur Christmas This Christmas action adventure film features Arthur and his crew of unlikely heroes as they attempt to save Christmas. While attempting to deliver a forgotten present Arthur, the meek son of Santa, learns about courage and believing in yourself. High tech elf gadgets and fast paced action keep the kids engaged while a bit of adult humour keeps things interesting for parents.

3. Bob’s Broken Sleigh

Bob's Broken Sleigh Bob is a “magic-less” misfit elf at the North Pole. What he lacks in self-confidence he makes up for in Engineering skills. Well sort of… his sleigh improvements have a slight defect which pushes him into a race against time to get the broken sleigh back to Santa. Kids will love the tale of Bob and his strange friends as they make their way back to Santa despite the misgivings of a fishy bad guy.

4. The Muppet Christmas Carol

Muppets This performance of the Charles Dickens classic is a family favorite! Join Kermit and his crew along with Michael Caine as Scrooge as they travel through time to discover the spirit of Christmas. There’s enough singing, dancing and other muppet madness to keep the kids glued to this live action movie.

5. Santa Buddies

Santa Buddies If your kids like talking animals this Christmas special will delight them. Puppy Paws is a restless North Pole puppy looking to lead the life of a normal dog. Oh and to the layout haters… I agree, this default Blogger site is pretty ugly. I’m working on a new layout and hope to get the content looking nicer in the near future.
